Application

There are several steps for applying to the ADS Program. To meet the deadlines, interested applicants are encouraged to begin the process immediately. The following steps provide a road map for the application process.

  1. Review the eligibility requirements for participation in the Program.

  2. If you do not have a Graduate Management Admissions (GMAT) score less than five years old, schedule a testing date. Full information about the GMAT is available at www.gmac.com. Some universities will accept either the GMAT or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for admission to their doctoral programs in accounting. Information about the GRE is available at www.ets.org. The GRE website provides a comparison of the GRE and GMAT.

  3. Begin preparing for the GMAT or GRE. Private entities and some universities offer preparation courses.

  4. Obtain transcripts from every college or university you have attended.

  5. Obtain three letters of recommendation. See ADS Application Checklist for details.

  6. Prepare a current resume.

  7. Obtain your GMAT or GRE score.

  8. Complete by November 3, 2008 the online application. In preparing for your essay, you may wish to consult two websites: www.statementofpurpose.com and www.EssayEdge.com.

  9. Submit by mail for receipt by November 3, 2008 the ADS Eligibility Form and the ADS Application Checklist.

Please note, the ADS Program will only review completed applications. If any data is missing from the submitted application, including test scores and/or other required information, the application will not be reviewed by the selection committee. There will be no exceptions.
